Ok, I am trained in how to fill out my report for an outside agency. If I am doing a test for the place I work, I simply do a supplement report to the initial IR.

The question was posed to me in a meeting was what does the detective put in their report? I could not give a strait answer.

Do they put?

-Nothing
-John Smith conducted a polygraph on the subject and the results showed ______.
-John Smith conducted a polygraph on the suspect and in the post test interview he said ________.

I am not sure, I know it can't be used in court, but how do they explain the test in their report?

Buster,

I suggest you prepare your poly report (either stand alone or as a suppl) and put it in the investigative file and have the detective report the interview in his progress notes with results referring back to your report, dated....

If court comes around, you can always redact it.

If you try to become esoteric, it will look like your dept is trying to hide something.
Like an old Army saying goes, "Report it all; let the lawyers sort it out..."
